This whiskey is not that oily and light golden in its colour. Ballantine’s tastes sweet with some notes of fresh-cut flowers, condensed milk and oak. You can also sense hints of vanilla in the background. The nose is nicely balanced and very subtle. The palate of this whiskey is very spicy with some hints of plump raisins. The whiskey is creamy smooth and very rich in taste. You can even taste some nice toffee notes after a while. If you have it with water, you will notice that it smooths out the spicy notes of this whiskey and softens hints of pepper. It also brings a sense of lightness to the glass and helps enhance its sweetness. The finish of this whiskey is long and wonderful. It leaves some nice hints of spice and fruit as it begins to fade away.
